WWE Rumors: Is Lana still getting a babyface push?
Lana will be on Team Raw at WWE Survivor Series, but what is her overall outlook on Monday nights?
The WWE Raw Women’s Division hasn’t been receiving nearly enough television time each week, which is frustrating since women’s wrestling is the highlight of WWE. It’s been especially rough to watch the three-hour show without any sign of the Women’s Champion Asuka, who is one of the world’s elite wrestlers.
There are a few wrestlers who could play a bigger role on the show in the months to come. Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose, for example, are making noise in the tag division, having stepped up as challengers to Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler for the Women’s Tag Titles.
And Lana had a singles match against Jax, though she came up short again.
Despite her loss to Nia, Lana’s had some big moments recently. She won a battle royal in the show’s main event to challenge the Raw Women’s Champion Asuka. Lana lost rather quickly, but she still earned a title shot.
Lana could have a big role to play at WWE Survivor Series
And she also earned a spot as the only woman to actually qualify for the Survivor Series team, as Raw disappointingly didn’t run the same number of qualification matches for their Women’s Division as they did with the Men’s Division.

Nonetheless, Lana qualified, and she could have an interesting role to play at Survivor Series, especially since she’s on the same team as Nia and Shayna – the two women who have mercilessly targeted her with the announce table.
It’s been tough for fans to gauge how WWE, specifically Vince McMahon, feels about Lana. There’s a school of thought that the announce table spots are a sign of her being buried, but more fans point to Lana’s victories as a reason to not think this way.
WrestlingNews.Co’s Paul Davis reports that Lana will get one back on Nia Jax by putting her through a table at some point.
They also report that Vince McMahon does not have anything against Lana, dispelling what amounts to a myth at this point.
Lana was clearly acting like a babyface on WWE Raw this week
Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio has consistently stated that Lana is getting a babyface push on Raw.
It’s worth noting that the biggest sign of her being a babyface, aside from the reporting indicating that the table bumps are to gain her sympathy, was the promo she cut on Nia Jax before the match that she lost this Monday night.
Lana came off like a huge face in that promo, showing determination. She does a great job of exaggerating her facial expressions so audiences know exactly what her character is thinking, and she was very much not acting like a heel, which has been her usual alignment in WWE.
There are some fans getting on board with Lana as a face, but the build to Survivor Series will tell us more about how this reported push is going for her.
