The New Day have set their eyes on the Street Profits at WWE Survivor Series, but they need to watch out for the Hurt Business.

We could get a dream match at WWE Survivor Series between two of the absolute best tag teams in the business. The New Day have set the standard in tag team wrestling for several years, and the current Raw Tag Team Champions are on a mission to prove they are still the best in the company at Survivor Series when they face SmackDown Tag Champs the Street Profits.

But both tag teams have to worry about keeping their titles heading into Survivor Series. The veteran tag team of Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode are an ever-present threat on Friday nights. Meanwhile, the New Day have to face an even more imposing tag team in the new duo of Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin.

The perfect match of a veteran performer and a rising star, Alexander and Benjamin look poised to give the Hurt Business their second taste of gold. Bobby Lashley, of course, is the current United States Champion, ready to make short work of whoever SmackDown’s Intercontinental Champion is at Survivor Series.

Alexander and Benjamin made quite the statement on the Nov. 2. episode of Raw, defeating Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston in a non-title match. The Hurt Business’ tag title competitors looked in sync throughout the match, winning when Alexander pinned Woods off Benjamin’s Paydirt finisher.

The Hurt Business could add the WWE Raw Tag Titles to their collection of gold

Afterward, the Hurt Business had a celebration, informing WWE fans that they made a pact with the company’s officials. They took care of RETRIBUTION (or so it seems), and their reward will be cashing in on a tag title opportunity.

So Kingston and Woods may not make it to WWE Survivor Series as the Raw Tag Team Champions. With the way Alexander has looked since joining the Hurt Business, the threat of Benjamin and Alexander is a massive one for the New Day.

But the New Day are one of the most difficult tag teams to beat. They have been through it all together, and Kingston and Woods likewise have a point to prove to the rest of the teams in WWE. After being separated from Big E, Woods and Kingston need to prove that they can still be the best tag team in the business despite not having their powerhouse in their corner.

That said, an Alexander and Benjamin vs. Street Profits match at Survivor Series has the heel/face dynamic WWE may be looking for, and Alexander and Benjamin winning the titles could really light a fire underneath an all-out tag team rivalry between the Hurt Business and New Day. And we definitely need a high-stakes tag team rivalry on Monday nights to add some more interest to the show each week.
