Broken Matt Hardy vs. Sammy Guevara – The Elite Deletion

The Elite Deletion opened up with Matt Hardy calling someone on the phone, saying that if he makes the call he needs them there to help him at the Hardy Compound. Sammy Guevara drove into the Hardy Compound with the golf cart that Matt ran him over with months ago, and drove over a monster truck toy that Maxell likely owned.

Sammy was greeted by Neo1 who projected a hologram of Matt Hardy saying that he was going to delete Sammy. Matt Hardy then drove up in a monster truck and ran over the golf cart. Sammy managed to get out and grab a garbage can off the truck and attacked Matt. They brawled around the yard for a bit and brawled to the ring where Matt Hardy put Sammy through a table and went for the pinfall.

Santana and Ortiz ran in and made the save, and Matt Hardy rolled to the floor and called Private Party on a walkie talkie, who came to the aid of Matt. Hardy grabbed some Roman Candles and him and Sammy started firing them at each other. Matt chased Sammy down and went to throw Sammy into the Lake of Reincarnation, but a masked man showed up threatening to break the neck of the Hurricane, who was randomly there. He took off his mask, and it was Gangrel!

He said Matt Hardy was never loyal to him (in the 90s when he was briefly with Gangrel!) so Gangrel was siding with Sammy, who has been loyal to him. Matt made the save, but Hurricane asked why Matt took so long to save him, as it’s been two years. Matt said it was long term storytelling, which made me laugh. Sammy threw Hurricane into the Lake of Reincarnation, and he came out as Gregory Helms, and tried to interview Sammy. Sammy threw him back into the lake and he came back out as Hurricane.

Matt and Sammy brawled throughout the compound into the Dome of Deletion, which Neo1 closed and locked everyone out but Sammy and Matt. Sammy took the bottom rope off the corner post. Sammy took off the middle rope and choked Matt with both ropes in the corner and put him onto a table before climbing a ladder and hitting a Senton Bomb off the ladder and threw the table. Matt Hardy kicked out and hit a Twist of Fate.

Matt stood up and speared Sammy off the apron and to the floor threw two tables. The back of Sammy’s head was bleeding, but it was absolutely fake blood and a reference to the injury of Matt in their last match. Matt then grabbed a chair and hit Sammy in the head, and screamed “You made me into what I am!” before hitting a conchairto on Sammy on the floor and pinning him.

Result: Broken Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy had Private Party throw Sammy into a garbage can, and then had Senior Benjamin drive him away. Reby played “Obsolete” on the piano and Hurricane, Matt Hardy, Reby, and Private Party all celebrated. This was a ton of fun. The only criticism I have about it was that the announcers and crowd audio shouldn’t have been over it. It would have been much more effective with just the sound of the video.

Lance Archer and Jake Roberts cut a promo about how they were coming for everyone, and you have to expect that Archer is angry about losing his title shot to Eddie Kingston. He’s going to be full of rage upon his return, and scarier than ever.
