Vince McMahon changes his mind in confusing, often frustrating ways, and a WWE Raw superstar may be in limbo because of his reckless decision-making.

Nobody wanted to see the IIconics break up on WWE Raw, but that’s the move Vince McMahon decided to make a couple of months ago. He had Peyton Royce and Billie Kay split up after they lost a match with a stipulation stating they could never team up again if they lost, and the two superstars are on different brands now.

At first, it was reported that Vince had plans to push Royce as a singles star, yet now she’s in a tag team with Lacey Evans on Monday nights after Evans was drafted from SmackDown to Raw in October. Talk about a step back for Royce – not just a lateral move, since the IIconics had more built up as a tag team than Evans and Royce.

According to a report from the Wrestling Observer News’ Dave Meltzer, via WrestlingNews.Co’s Paul Davis, Vince McMahon has changed his mind about pushing Peyton Royce as a singles star.

Instead, he wants to work on using Royce and Evans as a tag team while also pushing a new tag team on Raw in Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose, also previously on SmackDown as singles stars.

Vince McMahon’s strange logic for moving Peyton Royce into a new tag team on WWE Raw

Vince’s logic with regards to pushing Royce in this impromptu tag team as opposed to pushing her as a singles star? Get this. It’s because he wants to have more tag teams in the Women’s Tag Division. (The champs, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler, are on Raw.)

Now, it’s true that WWE needs more women’s tag teams, but we knew that when the IIconics broke up. That was a big part of why fans were so upset to see Royce and Kay split up as a tag team, because they were an established, respected tandem. So why do all that just to put Royce back together with Evans?

Hopefully this is just a red herring or Vince changes his mind again, because this isn’t a great decision for Royce.
