WWE Survivor Series 2020 is on the horizon, and there are two wrestlers on Team SmackDown to watch especially closely this coming Sunday.

On Sunday, Nov. 22, WWE Survivor Series 2020 will take place at the Amway’s Center with traditional women’s and men’s Survivor Series five-on-five elimination matches. Raw’s teams are already set, but both the women’s and men’s teams on Team SmackDown need at least one more member for a full five.

Even so, the most recent wrestler to qualify for the SmackDown Women’s Team at Survivor Series already gives us an intriguing storyline to think about on Sunday. The five-on-five matches can set in motion some major title feuds, and, in this case, we could get a title feud revisited between members of opposite brands.

Liv Morgan qualified for Team SmackDown on the Nov. 13 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, winning a Fatal Four-Way match against veterans Tamina and Natalya, as well as new call-up Chelsea Green.

In doing so, Morgan joined her tag team partner Ruby Riott on the team, giving SmackDown a solid duo to go with Bianca Belair, who is the favorite to end up as the sole survivor in the match.

But look at the other side. Team Raw has their own duos, and it seems like this match will center around the Women’s Tag Titles. Not only did Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose qualify together as a new tag team, but Team Raw also has the Women’s Tag Team Champions in Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler, whom Morgan and Riott have past experience with.

It’s surprising that Morgan and Riott aren’t tag team champions already, since they are a great babyface team and have plenty of fan support. But Nia and Shayna are a dominant force together, and their tag team dynamic has won people over.

Expect to see the women’s five-on-five match at Survivor Series built around all the threads in the Women’s Tag Team Division. Can Nia, Shayna, Dana, and Mandy all co-exist on the same team? And what about the face-offs we will get between Morgan and Riot and then Jax and Baszler?

There are multiple tag matches that could get set up from this larger five-on-five match at Survivor Series. Dana and Mandy vs. Ruby and Liv? How about Ruby and Liv vs. Nia and Shayna for the titles all over again with the babyface team finally winning the belts? Or how about a Triple Threat tag team match?

So many possibilities, and it’s going to be exciting to see how the chaotic environment of a five-on-five match plays into all of this.

Lana is the possible show-stealer of this match, and Bianca should be the biggest star in this five-on-five bout. But don’t overlook the importance of the Women’s Tag Titles in this match and the immediate impact Survivor Series could have on these prestigious titles.
