Which match could close the show at WWE WrestleMania 37 next year?

It’s still early to start thinking about the stories we could see on the road to WWE WrestleMania 37, but it’s honestly never too early to start wondering what could happen at the Show of Shows. WrestleMania is wrestling’s Super Bowl in many ways, and, well, it’s never too early to start thinking about the ultimate prize – the main event of ‘Mania.

Before Survivor Series, let’s take a look at five early predictions for matches that could headline next year’s WrestleMania.

Drew McIntyre vs. Keith Lee

Drew McIntyre regained the WWE Championship on the final episode of Raw before Survivor Series, defeating Randy Orton in a third title match with a hellacious Claymore Kick. Orton and McIntyre had a long rivalry in which they brought out the best (and worst) in each other, and McIntyre’s ability to outlast the Viper will serve him well in his second reign.

Who can knock McIntyre off his perch for good? There are a few candidates, such as the Fiend and even Edge, but I can’t think of a more suitable opponent for McIntyre at WrestleMania 37 than Keith Lee.

Think about all the times McIntyre interfered in one of Lee’s matches, not even regarding his friend’s wishes, just to get to Orton. McIntyre treated Lee as if he wasn’t even there, and Lee definitely didn’t forget to let Drew know about it.

Lee is the next big star in WWE. He excelled at Survivor Series 2019 during NXT’s involvement in the Pay Per View, he was crowned double-champion in NXT this summer, and he defeated Orton in one of his first matches as a member of the Raw roster.

He needs to have a big WrestleMania season, and there would be nothing bigger than dethroning McIntyre to close the Show of Shows.
