Roman Reigns gave us two beatings to savor on WWE SmackDown tonight.

On the December 4th edition of WWE SmackDown, former and current champions face off in various encounters while others continue to seek vengeance on rivals as TLC approaches. Kevin Owens teams up with Otis to take on Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Jey Uso in the main event.

Bayley Vs. Natalya

Grade: C

Two former SmackDown Women’s Champions go head-to-head in the first match of the evening. Bayley began the match by attacking Natalya on the ropes, constantly mocking guest commentator Bianca Belair. Once Bayley let her guard down, the latter would catapult her to the steel steps. The Role Model reassumed control in the ring by repeatedly wailing on her opponent.

Towards the conclusion, a failed corner move allowed Natalya to apply the Sharpshooter and gain a huge victory.

Bayley was on edge for the majority of the match, constantly missing key opportunities to seal the win while attempting to gain a psychological edge over her adversary. Natalya would take full advantage of her plight by keeping focused and hitting major moves to seal the win.

Daniel Bryan, Big E, and Rey Mysterio Vs. Dolph Ziggler, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Sami Zayn

Grade: A

In a tribute to Pat Patterson, former Intercontinental Champions faced off in a 6 man tag match. Nakamura began the match with Rey Mysterio and was overwhelmed before tagging out with Ziggler. Big E would enter the fray after, allowing Daniel Bryan a chance to take his opponent out with submissions and an outside dive.

In the climax of the contest, a series of rollup pins allowed Bryan to pin Sami once again and remain in contention for a future Intercontinental Championship match.

This stellar contest featured the exceptional speed of Rey Mysterio, Daniel Bryan’s submission prowess, and Big E’s strength. The villainous trio made several attempts to find an opening with their own brutal offense, but it just wasn’t enough to pick up the win.

Murphy Vs. King Corbin

Grade: B

Corbin began the match by destroying Murphy in the corner, utilizing strikes before throwing him around the ring. Murphy gained control on the outside until Corbin catapulted him near the announcer’s area. With the assistance of Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake, the King maintained the advantage until his opponent resurfaced with a major sleeper hold.

As the match came to a close, King Corbin would hit the End of Days to gain his vengeance over the Mysterio family.

King Corbin was completely confident in his abilities this week, destroying Murphy while leaning on his newfound allies to keep his backup in check. He may finally have an opening to assume control over his kingdom.

Roman Reigns and Jey Uso Vs. Kevin Owens and Otis

Grade: B

Roman Reigns would not appear for the match, forcing Jey to take on his opponents in a handicap encounter. Otis isolated Uso in the corner, denying him any chance of recovery with heavy clubs. Reigns appeared shortly after to even the score and was accordingly attacked by Kevin Owens on the outside.

In the climax of the contest, Kevin would attempt to pin Jey. Roman then appeared despite not being legal to apply the guillotine choke as the ref called for a disqualification.

Kevin Owens was a man on a mission in this encounter. He dealt most of the damage to Jey Uso and remained composed as the Universal Champion entered the fray. Roman’s anger and frustration got the best of him in the end as he savagely attacked Owens and his cohort to establish dominance.
