Impact Wrestling: Ranking the Top Five Moments of the Year
2020 could have been the year to put the company out of business, but Impact Wrestling fought back. However, lately, all eyes are on Impact Wrestling.
Impact Wrestling has been putting out great content in 2020. The roster is filling back up with the top names of the industry and keeps growing. We have seen TNA originals like Eric Young and the Motor City Machine Guns return to the company. Most recently, Kenny Omega made his first-ever appearance in the company.
For the first time in years, Impact Wrestling has all of the eyes on them. It is well deserved as well as it has been a tremendous year for the company. We have witnessed shocking wins, losses, debuts, and farewells. This year will certainly go down in history as one of the wildest in pro-wrestling history.
As for Impact Wrestling, we are going to look back over this crazy year to find out what were the top five most shocking moments of the year.
5. Heath Still Has Kids
After fourteen years with the company, Heath Slater was one of the superstars who were apart of the mass release in April. Despite never breaking out of the mid-card, Heath was one of the most beloved superstars in WWE. He really started to get the fans behind him when he started telling everyone, “I’ve got kids.” The gimmick would go on to give him possibly his most success.
Slater was good entertainment every time he was on the screen. So when Slater was named as one of those cut, fans knew that he would still have a bright future ahead of him. Heath took his release as a challenge and got in tremendous shape. That was on display when Heath returned on Raw for a one-off to fight old ally, Drew McIntyre.
In July, Heath arrived in Impact Wrestling making a shocking appearance at Slammiversary. Losing his last name, Heath quickly aligned with his old tag partner, Rhino. He would officially “earn” his contract when Rhino won the “Call Your Shot” gauntlet match at Bound For Glory. Heath was reported to have won but was injured during the match. We are still waiting for Heath to return.
