Wrestling: Who Will Be The Five Wrestlers To Watch Next Year?
Who will be wrestling’s breakout superstar in 2021? We saw a historic year for Drew McIntyre, could someone be set to follow in his path next year?
We have seen many wrestlers break out in 2020. Some wrestlers won the world championship for the first time or simply got their first chance to challenge for the gold. This year made everyone push the bar to put on tremendous shows without an audience in attendance. That made it even more difficult for stars to be made this year.
Drew McIntyre and Rich Swann were able to achieve nearly impossible goals. Superstars like Jey Uso and Kyle O’Reilly stepped out of their comfort zones and into the main event scene. It was a special year all around for wrestling despite the current pandemic.
We are all hoping that things will be back to normal in 2021. We hope that crowds will be in attendance to see the next breakout stars. However, who will be the stars that will break out next year? With so many stars on the verge of big things, we are looking to see the top five to watch.
5. Chris Bey
We haven’t seen Chris Bey in Impact Wrestling for a full year yet and he has already had a shot at the Impact World Championship. The future is very bright for the 24-year-old. He could really end up being the future of the business. Just one year into his Impact Wrestling career, Bey has been positioned to be a spotlight of the company.
At Final Resolution, Chris Bey and Rich Swann made history by fighting for the Impact World Championship in the Main Event. The world is talking about Chris Bey at the moment and with new eyes tuning in to see Kenny Omega, we are hoping that they stay to see Chris Bey. Bey is only starting to break out this year.
In 2021, we expect to see him fully become a break-out star. He recently worked for NJPW in the Super J tournament and put on a great showing. At such a young age, Chris Bey is showing that he can handle his weight in the business. Despite being under 200 pounds, Bey’s size won’t stop him from doing big things.
