Big E is the new Intercontinental Champion on WWE SmackDown after winning a Lumberjack match against Sami Zayn on Christmas Day.

At long last, Big E has won another singles title in WWE. The former NXT Champion and Intercontinental Champion is ready for his second reign with the prestigious mid-card title, and this run with the championship could be the most special singles run of his storied career.

A legendary tag team wrestler with the New Day, E has all the tools to be a big singles star in WWE, so this tenure with the IC Title could be a test to see if he’s ready to step into a bigger spotlight as the Blue Brand’s top champion.

Let’s take a look at five possible feuds for Big E, as he looks to increase the status of the belt on Friday nights.

Jey Uso

A good way to tease a future rivalry between Big E and Roman Reigns – since E could ultimately be the one to end Reigns’ Universal Title run in the future – would be to have a one-off Intercontinental Title match between E and the ambitious Jey Uso.

We’ve seen Uso put on stellar matches with Reigns, Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, and AJ Styles during his current singles run, which has put him at the main event level. That’s the level Big E is headed towards, so it makes sense for him and Jey to have a barnburner that provides some valuable future backstory for the New Day member. We all know the history Jey and E have with each other from the legendary Usos vs. New Day rivalries, too.
