2.) Asuka & Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Lacey Evans & Peyton Royce [Women’s Tag Team Championships]

On last week’s WWE Raw, Lacey Evans and Peyton Royce defeated Asuka and Charlotte in yet another poorly-constructed non-title tag match. Again, these non-title victories over champions need to go away. Nonetheless, it warrants a title shot for the makeshift tag team of Evans and Royce. The WWE will likely book this title match on this episode of Raw, where Asuka and Charlotte will emphatically retain to regain their momentum before they battle Baszler and Jax in a title rematch at the Rumble.

As a sidenote, Charlotte seems to be annoyed with Ric Flair accompanying her at ringside since he did cost them the non-title victory to Evans and Royce in the first place. Hopefully, Ric’s appearance was a one-off but it would not be too surprising to see WWE continue booking Ric at ringside for Charlotte’s matches in order to cost her more victories in matches. This would be WWE’s way of protecting her from clean losses as much as possible before she battles Asuka for the Raw Women’s Title.

Prediction: Asuka & Charlotte Flair

1.) Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Randy Orton [Non-Title Match]

Our Granger Chapman argued that Randy Orton should have been next for Goldberg. Since Orton’s gimmick is The Legend Killer, that match would have made sense. Goldberg called out McIntyre for disrespecting the legends on Legends Night. However, McIntyre never disrespected anybody, while Orton was the superstar who was doing just that for the majority of the show last week against the likes of Big Show, Mark Henry, and Ric Flair.

The WWE could still maintain its continuity by adding Randy Orton to the WWE Championship match. In order to get added to this title match, Orton would have to defeat McIntyre in the main event of this episode. Again, these non-title victories over champions are no good, but Orton needs to be in this match for the storyline to make sense. On top of that, Orton is probably the only heel on Raw who could save this title match from spurring more backlash than it has already.

Prediction: Randy Orton
