6.  Young Bucks become tag team champions

There were several important championship wins in 2020, all worthy of a top moment of the year. That includes Jon Moxley defeating Chris Jericho to become AEW World Champion, Hikaru Shida beating Nyla Rose to become AEW Women’s Champion and a surprise AEW World Tag Team Championship win by Omega and Hangman Page.

Perhaps no championship win was bigger than the Young Bucks finally becoming AEW Tag Team Champions. In 2019, the brothers were stunned when Private Party beat them in a tournament to become the number one contenders. Back in February, they had a Match of the Year contender against Page and Omega at Revolution.

Their shot at the titles was once again ended early when Page cost them a title shot in another number one contender’s tournament. This move led to Page being kicked out of The Elite. FTR went on to win that tournament become tag team champions.

The Jacksons got another shot at the titles at Full Gear. They had an incredible match with FTR, in which they paid tribute to tag teams past. At long last, following a superkick from Matt Jackson to Cash Wheeler and the deciding pinfall, the Young Bucks were AEW Tag Team Champions.

5. “The Exalted One” revealed

In 2019, vignettes for The Dark Order began. The members were taking orders from a mysterious man called “The Exalted One”. For months, rumors swirled about just who was commanding this group from afar. The early rumors even included Broken Matt Hardy.

It’s no secret that Dark Order was on the struggle bus for months. Even with Evil Uno and Stu Grayson being members, it just wasn’t working. That is until Mr. Brodie Lee came along. Lee delivered a memorable line to Christopher Daniels that was also a shot at his former boss when he said, “you are not the first out of touch old man to not believe in me.”

Not believing in Brodie Lee was a mistake. He turned the ship around and made Dark Order into an undeniable faction. Besides Uno and Grayson, they also have John Silver (who is on the verge of a breakout), Alex Reynolds, Anna “99” Jay, Preston “10” Vance, and Alan “Five” Angels.

Lee also defeated Cody to become TNT Champion. Although he only held the title for a mere five weeks, it was significant in making Dark Order a serious threat. This is now a faction that could hold the tag team and the women’s championships simultaneously. Mr. Brodie Lee is the best thing to ever happen to Dark Order.
