WWE: Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair’s road to being the top women’s champions
Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair should be at the top of the WWE women’s division as the future of what this group has to offer.
At the end of January, WWE will be having one of its big four Pay Per Views, which is the 2021 Royal Rumble. WWE desperately needs to create more prominent stars that can step up and push the women’s division forward. Over the last couple of years, we have seen Asuka, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair all win the Women’s Royal Rumble and go on to have hugely successful careers.
When I think of the future of the WWE Women’s division, the first two people that come to my mind are Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair. When I look at Ripley and Belair, I see main event players that can have suitable matches with Charlotte, Becky, Asuka, Sasha, and any one else on the roster.
Let’s go to the most recent examples of Ripley and Belair. Ripley is coming off of having a massive match at NXT: New Year’s Evil, which saw her defeated by Raquel Gonzalez in a Last Woman Standing match that further cemented Ripley as a huge deal in professional wrestling. When it comes to Belair, she is currently in a feud with Bayley that is looking to be more on the comedy side, which is something that Bianca shouldn’t be in right now.
If WWE wants to make their Women’s division enjoyable again, here is what needs to happen.
First, Belair needs to win the Women’s Royal Rumble match and do it in style, meaning she becomes the Iron Women and last in the match for a long time to get fans on her side. In the last minutes of the match, the ring should be cleared with Bianca in it, and outcomes Ripley at number 30, and her and Bianca have a stair down that leads to back and forth action between the two stars.
Then Bianca would get the best of Ripley and throw her over the rope to win the match, and out comes Sasha Banks to start the feud with Belair. The next night on Raw is when Ripley comes out and talks about how she was almost close to reaching her goal of being a Women’s Royal Rumble winner. I would have Triple H come out and announce to Rhea how she still has a chance to be in a WrestleMania match because he decided to have a Queen of The Ring tournament to determine who would face Asuka for the Raw Women’s championship.
I would have the last two people in the tournament be Charlotte and Rhea, with Rhea going over Charlotte clean so that could get people behind Rhea as a threat to Asuka’s title reign. When it comes to Belair, I will start a feud between her and Banks the following Friday Night Smackdown right after the Royal Rumble. I would have Sasha play a cocky heel that tells Bianca Belair that she isn’t as good as she thinks she failed in NXT and will fail on the Main Roster. I would have the feud between Bianca and Sasha build slowly to them hating each other and Bianca telling us her story of why she decided to become a professional wrestler and how she was inspired by Sasha work in NXT and on Raw when she was feuding with Charlotte.
The two WrestleMania Women’s title matches that place is Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair for the Smackdown women’s title and Rhea Ripley vs. Asuka for the Raw Women’s title. I believe that these two women’s matches are what WWE needs to do so that two new stars can be made.
Out of all the possible up and coming stars who should be pushed in 2021, Belair and Ripley has the full packages when it comes to being successful in the WWE. Wrestling fans who have been paying close attention in NXT has seen what these two talented women can do when they are given the right time to shine.
One of WWE’s biggest problems is that they wait till they are forced into something to make the changes fans want to see. This is the perfect opportunity for WWE to do something right. When it comes to professional wrestling, new stars are what keeps the business moving forward. It is time to make two new stars in one-night think WrestleMania 21 when John Cena and Bautista became massive stars.
