WWE Raw Predictions: Edge Will Target Drew McIntyre
By Mark Justice
2.) Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifications [Free-For-All]
Now that the WWE is on the road to Elimination Chamber, there need to be some qualification matches for the Women’s Elimination Chamber on this episode of WWE Raw. Since Belair won the Rumble and will obviously select Sasha Banks as her WrestleMania opponent for the SmackDown Women’s Title, the Women’s Elimination Chamber match needs to determine Asuka’s WrestleMania opponent for the Raw Women’s Championship.
Since Baszler and Jax are busy with the Women’s Tag Team Titles; they won’t be in pursuit of the Raw Women’s Title. Instead, Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, Lacey Evans, Peyton Royce, Alexa Bliss, and Nikki Cross are the six foreseeable candidates for the Elimination Chamber Match. While Flair has history with Ripley and has been feuding with Evans and Royce, Bliss has history with Cross and has already staked her claim for Asuka’s Raw Women’s Title in recent weeks.
Prediction: Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, Lacey Evans, Peyton Royce, Alexa Bliss, Nikki Cross
1.) Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifications [Free-For-All]
Now that the WWE is on the road to Elimination Chamber, there must be some qualification matches for the Men’s Elimination Chamber on this episode of WWE Raw. Since Edge won the Rumble and will obviously select the WWE Champion as his WrestleMania opponent, the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match needs to be for the WWE Championship in order to determine Edge’s true WrestleMania opponent for that championship.
Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton, Keith Lee, AJ Styles, Braun Strowman, and Sheamus are the six foreseeable candidates for the Elimination Chamber Match. They have all staked their claims for the WWE Championship in one way or another. Lee, Styles, Strowman, and Sheamus all proved themselves as sole survivors in the Men’s Survivor Series match while Orton and McIntyre were both WWE Champion in 2020.
Prediction: Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton, Keith Lee, AJ Styles, Braun Strowman, Sheamus
Special Angle: Will Edge Target Drew McIntyre?
Edge’s journey to WrestleMania would not be complete without the WWE Championship. Edge lost the World Heavyweight Championship before hanging up his boots in 2011. The World Heavyweight Championship was later merged with the WWE Championship at WWE TLC 2013, where Orton defeated Cena to win both belts. It is clear that Edge will target the title in McIntyre’s grasp and has no business pursuing Roman Reigns’ Universal Title.
However, the real question is: Will Drew McIntyre be the WWE Champion whom Edge battles at WrestleMania 37? The fans should not forget that Randy Orton was in the original plans to walk into Mania as the WWE Champion and battle Edge in one more match. A title change could occur at Elimination Chamber to assure that said title match occurs at Mania. The fact that Edge eliminated Orton last in the Rumble is already a sign of things to come. Stay tuned.
