Alexa’s WrestleMania 37 Playground Match: Alexa Bliss vs. Nikki Cross

As much as Alexa Bliss feels intertwined in the rivalry between Randy Orton and “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt right now, it would be a real disappointment if WWE didn’t capitalize on the friendship and chemistry between Bliss and Nikki Cross by giving them a proper conclusion. Cross tried to stick with Bliss even as she became further entranced and brainwashed by Bray Wyatt.

We finally saw that connection reignited in a way this week on WWE Raw, as the two squared off in a match that once again saw Alexa Bliss go through these blip-like transformations into other versions of herself. For a moment, it looked like the very Alexa Bliss who captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles alongside Nikki Cross.

Unfortunately, it didn’t last, and when the dust settled this new creepier and frighteningly childlike version of Alexa Bliss took the win. If Nikki Cross continues to try and reach her friend between now and WrestleMania 37, it could culminate in Alexa’s own kind of unique cinematic Wyatt-esque matchup, and we might just see Cross finally pull her friend back to reality.

Raw Women’s Championship Match: Asuka (c) vs. Naomi

Should Asuka manage to hold onto the Raw Women’s Championship between now and WrestleMania 37, which she absolutely should, there’s a big question mark of who she’d defend that title against. However, a clear contender made her presence felt this week when Naomi pinned the champion in tag team action to earn Naomi and Lana a shot at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.

While Naomi could already be on the path to challenging for those belts (perhaps for a second or third time) at WrestleMania 37, the nature of a two-night event makes it more than possible for her to pursue one title on Night One and another on Night Two. Whether it’s by eventually leveraging this week’s win, a win at Elimination Chamber 2021, or any other path, this would be a great moment for Naomi.

While Naomi has competed for and even captured championship gold at WrestleMania before, she’s never done so in a one-on-one contest. Naomi and Asuka are highlights of the women’s division, and they deserve the opportunity to show what they can do with a match like this if finally given the opportunity on a stage like WrestleMania 37.
