Intercontinental Championship Match: Big E (c) vs. Sami Zayn

We’ve seen this match before, but Sami Zayn has continued to lean into his new conspiracy-driven character and insist that WWE is out to get him and that the Intercontinental Championship still belongs to him. During this past week’s episode of SmackDown, Zayn got a title shot in a triple threat match that also involved Apollo Crews. When the dust finally settled, it was Big E who still held the title, but he picked up the win by pinning Crews.

That means Zayn will almost certainly argue this Friday night on SmackDown that he was once again robbed and deserves a one-on-one opportunity at Big E for the Intercontinental Championship. Whether Crews finds a way to stay in the conversation is still unclear, but don’t be surprised if Zayn’s pursuit of the title continues at Elimination Chamber.

United States Championship Match: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Riddle vs. Keith Lee

Speaking of rivalries that have been going for some time, it looks like the issues between Bobby Lashley and Riddle have yet to come to a conclusion. Just over a week ago, Riddle challenged Lashley for the United States Championship and actually won by disqualification when Lashley refused to release The Hurt Lock while Riddle was tied up in the ropes.

This week, we saw the return of Keith Lee who proposed that he’d have a better chance at defeating Lashley and even insisted he could defeat Riddle. Lee picked up the win, but didn’t get any time to celebrate, as Bobby Lashley laid waste to Lee and Riddle after the match. All of this has set the stage for one of the few confirmed matches at Elimination Chamber, but will Lashley be able to hold onto his championship against both Riddle and Lee?
