WWE Elimination Chamber 2021: Ranking each man’s chances of winning
2. Drew McIntyre
There’s a very real possibility Drew McIntyre withstands the challenge at WWE Elimination Chamber 2021 and faces Edge or Keith Lee at WrestleMania 37. The Elimination Chamber, on the surface, seems like a good way to take the title off McIntyre while still protecting him, just like we saw a few years ago when John Cena dropped the strap to Bray Wyatt inside the chamber.
McIntyre vs. Lee is still my favorite possible WWE Championship match at WrestleMania, though it does admittedly seem like we are getting a Lee triumph over Bobby Lashley and the Hurt Business at the Show of Shows for a much-needed United States Title change.
That said, McIntyre has been booked so strongly that he has to be ranked as one of the top two candidates to retain. Even if they just have The Miz cash in to close the show.
1. AJ Styles
AJ Styles fell to Drew McIntyre at TLC in a Triple Threat ladder match, but we have not seen these two men in a one-on-one match since. In an interview with talkSPORT’s Alex McCarthy, Styles has stated that he wants to face Triple H, Drew McIntyre, or Edge at WrestleMania 37.
By winning this Elimination Chamber match, the Phenomenal One could face either McIntyre or Edge. The latter match would be a true dream match for the WWE Title and one of the most highly-anticipated matches for Edge possible (the others are against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns of SmackDown).
So even if Edge faces Roman in a different dream match, we could still get a one-on-one bout between Styles and McIntyre for the title with a Styles win.
But imagine this. Roman vs. Daniel Bryan for the Universal Title and Edge vs. AJ for the WWE Title at the Show of Shows. That sounds like a tremendous lineup of men’s world title matches.
