1. Elimination Chamber 2019

Daniel Bryan (c) vs. AJ Styles vs. Jeff hardy vs. Samoa Joe vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship

Would this entry be controversial? Probably.

Is this everyone’s favorite Chamber match? Probably not.

But is this the moment where kids and adults both cried? Yes. Yes. Yes.

One criticism for this match could be that Kofi had no buildup going into this match, but I’d say that that made his story in this match even more compelling.

He wasn’t chosen for the spotlight, he was a replacement for somebody else, he wasn’t supposed to be there, and yet, that’s where he was meant to be. Even on this list, this position for this match is perfect. In the last entry, we saw Kofi cast aside, someone else taking his place, and in this one, Kofi gets what he deserves, so yes, I’ll say it. This is the greatest Elimination Chamber match of all time, according to me at least.

Kofi Kingston was a replacement for Mustafa Ali, who couldn’t compete due to an injury.

Daniel Bryan was in his holier-than-thou vegan phase, and he started the match with Samoa Joe and seeing Joe in the ring with the man who once was Bryan Danielson in ROH, seeing them both together on this stage, fighting for the WWE title, it was pretty cool. Plus, we got some great technical wrestling.

Next up was the man himself, Kofi Kingston. We got a great visual when Bryan was on the top of a pod, and Kofi jumped up to stand right in front of him. Kofi then hit a dive onto Joe and Bryan off the pod.

AJ Styles entered next and ran wild on everyone. Daniel Bryan climbed up the chains like a cowardly heel, only to eat a Phenomenal Forearm right there. Joe put Kofi to sleep, but then got hit with a Phenomenal Forearm and eliminated.

Jeff Hardy entered next and hit everyone with high-flying offense. He placed AJ on the turnbuckles and hit a nasty looking Swanton Bomb off of a pod. Bryan eliminated Hardy with a Running Knee.

The final participant was Randy Orton, and he sauntered into the ring cockily. He hit AJ with an RKO Outta Nowhere to eliminate him, and then he again started sauntering. Focus on the match, Randy!

He obviously didn’t and got eliminated by Kofi after a Running Knee/Trouble in Paradise combination.

The final two were Kofi and Bryan, the man who wasn’t supposed to be there, and the man who wasn’t supposed to be there 5 years ago. A B+ player and a former B+ player. What followed was perhaps the best final 2 in Chamber history, certainly according to me.

The crowd realized the contrast and similarities between the two characters. Kofi was now where Bryan was 5 years ago. They were white-hot for Kofi, and both men played their parts to perfection. There were jaw-dropping spots and near falls throughout the match, with the fans roaring their approval as Kofi kicked out of a Running Knee, but alas, it wasn’t meant to be, as Bryan pinned Kofi with another knee.

This match and the reaction Kofi got while walking to the back with his New Day brethren would punch his ticket to Mania, where he’d finally beat Bryan to realize his dream.

I’m glad we didnt get Kofi as the champ immediately without any buildup, and also, we got to see that gorgeous Daniel Bryan custom strap a bit longer.

Hope this gets you excited for the upcoming show. It’s Elimination Chamber baby!
