Daniel Bryan vs. Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens vs. Jey Uso vs. King Corbin vs.  Sami Zayn [Universal Championship #1C: Elimination Chamber]

In terms of chances of winning, Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, and Kevin Owens have the highest chances of winning basically because they are the only top babyfaces on SmackDown who would be suitable contenders for the top heel champion in Roman Reigns. Meanwhile, Jey Uso, King Corbin, and Sami Zayn have the lowest chances of winning because they are heels like Roman Reigns and their lackluster momentum recently does not warrant a title opportunity in the main event scene.

In terms of the order of entrants and eliminations, Daniel Bryan and Cesaro will start the match in the ring while Zayn, Owens, Corbin, and Uso will be in the pods in that order. As soon as Zayn comes out of his pod, he will be quickly eliminated by either Bryan or Cesaro. Thanks to Bryan’s prior IC title feud with Zayn and Cesaro’s history with Zayn in the Artist Collective in 2020, it would make sense for either superstar to eliminate Zayn.

Once Owens and Corbin enter the Chamber, Corbin should eliminate Owens to ignite a feud between them. Owens has had more than enough title matches with Reigns and needs to move on to a new feud. Since Owens is so obsessed with fighting Reigns, he will snap on Corbin for eliminating him. The referees will ask Owens to leave the chamber but he won’t listen. Instead, he will deliver a Stunner to Corbin, allowing either Bryan or Cesaro to pin and eliminate Corbin.

Jey Uso will be the last pod entrant because Roman Reigns will probably pull some strings backstage with Adam Pearce to assure that his cousin gets a significant advantage in this match. That way, Uso would have a high chance of winning the Chamber and allowing Reigns to easily retain later on in the night by respectfully lying on the mat for his tribal chief. However, Roman’s plan will inevitably backfire in the grand scheme of things.

Seth Rollins, who recently returned and kickstarted a feud with Cesaro, felt disrespected by Cesaro when he was cutting a promo about his vision for SmackDown. He will break into the chamber to screw Cesaro and set up a match for Mania. After Kevin Owens leaves the chamber in frustration, the front door to the chamber will still be open and Rollins can quickly enter in that short moment to Curb Stomp Cesaro, allowing the heel Jey Uso to pin and eliminate Cesaro.

Bryan and Uso will be the final two in the chamber. Since Jey Uso is the stepping stone to Roman Reigns, it makes sense for the winner of the chamber to eliminate Jey Uso last. Indeed, Daniel Bryan will make Jey Uso tap out with the ‘Yes’ Lock to win the Elimination Chamber and become the number one contender for the Universal Title. Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman might try to interfere to help Uso win, but Bryan will defy the odds as he did against The Authority in 2014.

The babyface-heel dynamics are in Bryan’s favor, and this victory would be a consolation prize for Bryan since he was originally favored to win the Rumble and has not regained his momentum since he was eliminated from that Rumble. Many naysayers may expect Cesaro to win because he just re-signed and deserves the push, but there have been so many reports and rumors about Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania, and WWE needs to start building it asap.

Prediction: Daniel Bryan

Roman Reigns (c) vs. Daniel Bryan [Universal Championship]

Daniel Bryan has proven his endurance at key moments throughout his career. He fought two matches at WrestleMania 30 and won both of those matches to become the WWE Champion. He also lasted over an hour in The Greatest Royal Rumble, setting the record time to beat as the most durable Iron Man. However, at this stage of his career, there is no way he will dethrone Roman Reigns after that gruesome Elimination Chamber match.

Roman Reigns will obviously retain the Universal Championship, especially since there has been no question as to whether he would walk into Mania as the champion. However, this title match should set up a FastLane 2015 rematch at WWE FastLane 2021 in March. Due to the unfair circumstances, Bryan would have every reason to battle Reigns again in a match where they are both fresh on a B-level FastLane PPV that is eminently relevant to their feud from 2015.

It was rumored that Edge has been pushing for a match with Daniel Bryan. As the 2021 Royal Rumble Winner, it is sensical for him to scrutinize this match and tease the idea of Bryan actually winning the title. The idea of Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Edge for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania is a great teaser until Reigns crushes that dream like a true heel with a definitive retention that sets up the originally reported title match against Edge at WrestleMania 37.

Prediction: Roman Reigns
