1.) Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton, & Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus, Mr. MITB The Miz, & AJ Styles [6-Man Tag]

On last week’s WWE Raw, Adam Pearce announced all of the contestants who will battle for the WWE Championship inside the Elimination Chamber with Drew McIntyre. It would be characteristic of WWE to book a six-man tag match featuring the three babyfaces against the three heels. The three babyfaces would be Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton, and Jeff Hardy. Meanwhile, the three heels would be Sheamus, Mr. MITB The Miz, and AJ Styles.

Randy Orton established his babyface turn on last week’s Raw when he pushed McIntyre out of the way to save him from a Brogue Kick by Sheamus. He will need to solidify his face turn with a victory here. Jeff Hardy also needs a win back after losing to AJ Styles last week. Meanwhile, McIntyre needs to look strong before defending his WWE Championship this Sunday. The babyface team can easily pin The Miz, the weak link, for the happy ending to the go-home show.

Special Go-Home Angle: Will Bray Wyatt Magically Replace Randy Orton?

If the babyfaces do win their match on the go-home show, typical 50:50 booking logic would suggest that a heel could win the WWE Championship this Sunday. This means that Drew McIntyre’s second WWE Championship reign could be in jeopardy, especially since Sheamus would very likely have his mind set on eliminating him inside the Elimination Chamber. Out of the three heels, AJ Styles is the most likely to walk away with the gold and battle Edge at Mania.

However, there is a twist to keep in mind. Another heel could join the fray, and his name is Bray Wyatt, another former WWE Champion who should have been added to this match. At some point, Wyatt has to return with a new character and handle his business with Orton. Replacing him in the Elimination Chamber match and winning the WWE Championship as he did four years ago at WWE Elimination Chamber 2017 could be a huge, historically relevant swerve for this Sunday.

That chain of events would lead to a WrestleMania 33 WWE Championship rematch with Orton at WrestleMania 37, where Wyatt can rewrite his story and actually retain the WWE Championship. Long-term storytelling can go a long way in the WWE, but the company sometimes fails to capitalize on key moments like these. Will this be one of those moments?
