Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair – Fastlane 2019
Speaking of the Fastlane 2019 event, another major story was happening that year on the Road to WrestleMania. There was something magical in the air, and fans could feel a revolution was on the horizon. Becky Lynch was WWE’s top face, and with the WWE Universe behind her, she was determined to not only be a part of WrestleMania 35, but to headline the show.
Despite winning the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble that year, “The Man” endured obstacles along the way. After all, Vince McMahon didn’t want to see her hit the Grandest Stage of Them All: He wanted Charlotte Flair to face Rhonda Rousey, instead. So, a match at Fastlane was set up, and the rest is history.
Whether friends or foes on-screen, anytime Charlotte and Becks hit that ring, there’s a spark and chemistry between them like no other. They’ve had some fabulous matches over the years, and this one needed to hit the top five matches in Fastlane history. The two once again did what they do best.
AJ Styles vs. John Cena vs. Baron Corbin vs. Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn vs. Dolph Ziggler – Fastlane 2018
One only has to look at the men involved in this match to know it was a great one. From AJ Styles to Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, and of course, John Cena, these men all had very different stories as to why they were in the match, and why they desperately wanted to win it. Of course, AJ Styles was the WWE Champion looking to retain his title to move onto Shinsuke Nakamura, while John Cena was questioning how he would fit into the WM 34 picture that year, and was desperately trying to edge his way in. (Spoiler alert, he ended up facing The Undertaker).
When all was said and done, after an epic bout, Styles would prevail. But not before offering one of the best matches in Fastlane’s history!
