Jeff Hardy has spent the majority of his wrestling career in WWE, which gives him a bit of insight into how the company has operated over the years.

With his brother Matt now with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) — debuting with his “Broken Matt” character, but has since adopted a tweaked, shady business manager version of his “Big Money Matt” gimmick — some fans wonder if the two will reunite in that company at some point.

For now, Jeff is entrenched as a legacy upper midcard star with WWE, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have opinions on the rival promotion.

Jeff Hardy on AEW’s “open-mindedness”

Speaking with ESPN West Palm’s Brian Rowitz, Jeff said this about the differences between AEW and WWE (h/t to Fightful’s Gisberto Guzzo for the transcription):

"“It’s really cool, you know. Matt’s in AEW and before the pandemic hit the crowds were just incredibly on fire. It’s so exciting watching. They’re very different than the WWE. I don’t know how to explain it, I think they’re more open-minded. WWE’s kind of set in their ways. This changed many times over the years, especially since the Attitude Era. It’s way different, you know, and thank God we don’t hit each other in the head with chairs anymore because I worry about that. I try not to future trip too much. It’s a lot safer now but you can still get hurt at any moment.”"

Jeff’s last WWE match came on the Feb. 22 episode of WWE Raw. On that night, he renewed his summer 2020 rivalry with Sheamus in a singles match, though he ultimately lost via pinfall. His last win in WWE came on the Feb. 1 edition of WWE’s flagship show in a tag team match with the returning Carlito against Elias and Jaxson Ryker.
