Big E (c) vs. Apollo Crews for the Intercontinental Championship

Out of the two announced title matches for Fastlane, I think Big E’s title is at the most risk of changing hands. I don’t want him to lose the Intercontinental Championship just yet, as I’d like to see him carry it through the summer before using the IC Title run as a launching pad for a huge win at WrestleMania 38, ideally with Big E being the man who finally conquers Roman Reigns.

But I could see Apollo Crews getting a big win, considering how impressive his recent work has been. He should win another title in 2021 and would be a great heel IC Champion for the Blue Brand.

In the end, I see E retaining in what should be one of the three best matches of the night, if not the best. Based on the segments we’ve seen, Big E and Crews have something special together.

Prediction: Big E

Braun Strowman vs. Shane McMahon

Braun Strowman vs. Shane McMahon should be saved for WrestleMania 37 without any sort of a match at Fastlane, and it seems like WWE have actually pulled the previously-announced match. But until we get some clarity on the situation, I’ll give a prediction in case it happens.

So again, I think it’s better not to have this match, as it makes more sense to keep building heat between these two on Raw on a weekly basis before having an “attraction” match at WrestleMania. I know a lot of people don’t care about Shane in 2021 and some don’t care much for Braun either, but the intrigue of seeing these guys on the card will be enough for many viewers.

If the match does happen, expect Shane to win and get maximum heat by taking the devious route to pick up the victory, with another humiliation of Braun like we saw on Raw this week. Braun is one thousand percent winning at WrestleMania, so if they face off at Fastlane, this will be all about getting ridiculous levels of heat on Shane. (It probably won’t work, but you can bet WWE will do their damndest.)

Prediction: Shane McMahon, if the match actually happens
