Now that  AEW Revolution is out of the way, it is time to focus on the next event, which is Double or Nothing. The event will be taking place from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida, on May 30, 2021. The expectation is huge for this event this year because of how much the AEW roster has grown and because of what took place at Revolution. In this article, I will be discussing five early predictions for Double or Nothing.

Hikaru Shida drops the Women’s championship to Dr.Britt Baker

AEW women’s champion Hikaru Shida is the longest-reigning champion in AEW’s short history of any title reign. It was at Double or Nothing 2020 when Shida defeated Nyla Rose to capture the AEW women’s world championship. Since then, Hikaru has defended the championship against  Penelope Ford, Thunder Rosa, Big Swole, Nyla Rose, Abadon, and Ryo Mizunami. Britt Baker is the perfect wrestler to defeat Shida because AEW has been slowly building her up as being the top heel in the women’s division since turning heel in 2020.

Britt Baker has risen in popularity and has become the must-see Woman in AEW’s women’s division every Wednesday. It is important that AEW puts the Women’s title on Baker because she is that division top star, and she deserves to be champion.

The Good Brothers Vs. The Young Bucks (AEW World Tag Team Championships)

The AEW and Impact Wrestling working relationship has been must-see television for both companies, but it is time to step up and take the partnership to the next level. AEW wrestlers such as Kenny Omega, Matt Hardy, and Private Party have all appeared on Impact television, and the Good Brothers have appeared on AEW television. When Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson first appeared on AEW, they showed up to help Kenny Omega and were eventually joined by the Young Bucks.

The five wrestlers have a significant amount of history from their New Japan days as a part of the Bullet Club. Throughout the time that the Good Brothers have appeared on AEW, we have seen cracks begin to show in their relationship with The Young Bucks. The Young Bucks vs. The Good Brothers need to happen so that the friendship between the Bucks and Kenny can end so that Kenny can genuinely become the evil heel we know he can be.

Lance Archer defeats Sting

At AEW Revolution, Sting made his in-ring return to team up with Darby Allin to defeat Brian Cage and Ricky Starks of Team Taz in a street fight. This was Sting’s first match since getting that serious neck injury against Seth Rollins at Night of Champions 2015.

Last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite Sting was scheduled for an interview when he was interrupted by Lance Archer and Jake Roberts. This was all us wrestling fans needed to know that Archer and Sting will be the next big feud we get. It will be interesting to see how AEW does this storyline because of the history Jake Roberts and Sting have with each other from being in WCW.

The Inner Circle Vs. MJF Faction in a War Games type match

The moment that wrestling fans were waiting for finally happened when Chris Jericho finally realized that MJF was playing games with him the whole time he was a part of the inner circle. What happened at the end of last week’s Dynamite was surprising. When Santana, Ortiz,  Hager, and Sammy sided with Y2J, MJF revealed that he had created his own faction. This was then revealed to have FTR, Shawn Spears, Tully Blanchard, and Wardlow in it. The new heel stable would then attack and destroy the inner circle.

It is obvious now that these two factions will be battling it out over the next couple of weeks to determine who is AEW’s top faction. When two groups like this have a feud, it is important that AEW allows history to be the thing that settles the feud, and AEW using their version of War Games as a way to help push the hate for these two factions would be great. AEW can finally give us their Blood and Guts match that we were supposed to get last year before Covid-19 happened.

Kenny Omega defends AEW World Tile against Christian Cage

At AEW Revolution, it was revealed that  Christian Cage was the new big signing. Regardless of how wrestling fans feel, this was a huge signing because of the fact that Christian was in the final four of the 2021 Men’s royal rumble match only a couple of weeks prior. AEW set this feud up last week when Omega took Cage’s time away so that he could brag about him winning his match at Revolution.

Omega versus Cage is a dream match that wrestling fans should be excited to see because of the level that these two can wrestle at. A match between two Canadian wrestlers that are considered by many as two of the best could be main event for any wrestling company big Pay-per-view. Kenny is having the best World title reign we have seen so far in AEW, and beating Christian Cage would help prove that this title reign is one of the best in modern professional wrestling history.
