AEW: Five Wrestlers Who Should be The Next TNT Champion
The AEW television championship made its debut in All Elite Wrestling in 2020 and has gone through three different champions, with Darby Alliin being the most current one. When it comes to the AEW television championship, even though it is a secondary title, it has already proven to be a top prize for the company’s wrestlers. In this article, I will be discussing who I believe should be the one to take the television championship from Darby.
The AEW TNT championship has helped put over Cody Rhodes, Brodie Lee, and Darby Allin as important wrestlers in AEW. When Cody first became champion and started the open challenges, it cemented the title as a top title to have in the company. Even though Darby Allin has held the championship the longest, his run with the title hasn’t been all that great.
5. Brian Cage
Brian Cage and Taz have been feuding with Darby Allin for a couple of months now, and each time Darby finds a way to make it out of the situation. When it comes to Team Taz something, huge needs to happen for this group to be taken seriously before they become more of a joke, Brian Cage is a monster and should be AEW’s top wrestler. Cage is a former champion in Lucha Underground and Impact Wrestling. Cage beating Darby and going on to have a flawless reign as champ would help not only the TNT Title but all of Team Taz.
4. Miro
When Miro debuted on AEW Dynamite, it was a good moment because it was long overdue for a wrestler whom WWE gave up on. As of now, Miro’s run in AEW has been borderline Rusev 2.0 AEW needs to hurry up and do something with Miro before he gets lost in AEW already crowded roster. Miro is a former WWE United States champion that could use a reign as TNT champion to reach that next level.
3. Lance Archer
“Everybody dies” is a quote Lance Archer uses, and that is correct. When it comes to Lance Archer, he should be one of the people that AEW should be pushing to the top. Lance would be the perfect big man to carry the title because he could be the monster that destroys all the competition and eventually loses the belt to an up-and-coming babyface. Lance competed in the inaugural tournament, losing to Cody in the final round. It is time for AEW to pull the trigger on one of the best big men in modern wrestling.
2. Eddie Kingston
Eddie Kingston is the best talker in professional wrestling today. There is no one on the AEW roster that can tell a story like Eddie. Eddie Kingston made his AEW debut for AEW, challenging Cody for the TNT Title. With all of the amazing work Eddie has done in his short time in AEW, he should be rewarded with the TNT title. I believe that Kingston and Darby could put together a compelling story based on their real-life stories.
1. Pac
The number one person on my list I believe should be the next AEW TNT champion is Pac. Pac missed most of 2020 because of Quarantine, but since coming back, he has been on a mission to let people know that he is an important piece in AEW. Pac is one of WWE’s missed opportunities because he is a former NXT champion and was the one that made the WWE Cruiserweight division famous when it was brought back.
A lot of professional wrestling fans love and respect Pac because of his amazing technical wrestling skills. Pac beat Allin before in AEW, and that can be used to create a story for their feud. Pac, as a TNT champion, can put together his own open challenges that create better matches than the matches Cody gave us. Pac needs to be pushed back into the main-event scene, and this could be the right time for him to become to do it because Darby’s title reign has reached its peak, and now it’s time for AEW to give us something new.
