Death Triangle

The depth of AEW’s tag team division has led to the need for an additional set of titles.

Not only does AEW have a lot of tag teams, but they also have a lot of factions and trios. Couple this with the fact that the more bodies that are in a match, the more unpredictable the outcome of those matches will be, and all signs point to the introduction of a trios title at some point in 2021.

And what better way to determine the inaugural trios champions than to set up an eight-team tournament over the course of a few weeks on Dynamite.

There are several interesting teams that could get a nice push from the introduction of these titles. Jurassic Express, Gunn Club, Dark Order, Hardy Family Office, Pinnacle, Inner Circle, The Factory, Team Taz, and Best Friends with Orange Cassidy would make for some interesting matchups and give some exposure to a lot of young and talented wrestlers in the company.

However, none of these teams would be able to match the talent of Death Triangle.

Rey Fenix, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Pac are arguably the three most talented performers in AEW to not yet hold gold within the promotion. All three men are legitimate threats to win any singles or tag team title at any time, and they most likely will at some point.

But in the interim, it would make sense to put the trios titles on these three men. It would immediately legitimize the titles just by the level of talent holding the belts. And it would get three of the best wrestlers in the world on our television on a more consistent basis.  And that is something that I think we all can agree is a very good thing.
