Three things AEW fans want to see from the upcoming Rampage show
AEW Rampage should still highlight their younger talent in compelling storylines and segments
AEW has built itself a deep roster filled with talented wrestlers that need a consistent platform to show their skills in the ring and on the microphone in a short period of time. As you would imagine, having all that talent under one umbrella means that there’s only so much TV/YouTube time available to give each of them something to sink their respective sets of metaphorical teeth into.
An extra hour of TV time won’t solve all of those problems, but it would allow viewers who don’t regularly watch Dark or Elevation to get a look at wrestlers who occupy that space. However, AEW will need to do more than have those potential stars win enhancement matches over various independent wrestlers.
Fans already see a bit of this on Dark and Elevation. Feuds that may have started on Dynamite sometimes continue on one of those shows, if not both. Upper-tier wrestlers occasionally pop in to cut outstanding promos. Paul Wight even has a pretty neat sit-down interview segment where fans get to know more about an incoming wrestler.
While merely copying those shows would be pointless since, you know, those shows already exist, but taking elements from both to showcase ascending talent in front of a larger audience is the right way to go.
