Cameron Grimes vs. LA Knight (w/Ted Dibiase) [Grudge Match]
WWE NXT booked this match as a fun intermission feud to solidify Cameron Grimes’ new gimmick as the Million Dollar Man. This could be for the Million Dollar Championship once everything is all said and done. Grimes has been a gem on NXT but has always been stuck in the midcard with no championships under his belt. This feud was built for Grimes to have a “passing of the torch” moment with Ted DiBiase as a consolation prize for his entertaining work on the show. Hopefully, he will be pushed straight “to the moon” with this new gimmick.
Foolproof Prediction: Cameron Grimes
Bronson Reed (c) vs. Santos Escobar [NXT North American Championship]
Bronson Reed and MSK have been feuding with Legado Del Fantasma for the past couple of weeks. MSK already retained their NXT Tag Team Championships against Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde in the main event of WWE NXT this week. It is likely that this title match between Reed and Escobar will be made official for this PPV event. It is lovely to see Escobar elevated from the cruiserweight division into the midcard division on NXT. However, this will be Reed’s first title defense, so Escobar will unfortunately be fed here in the early stages of Reed’s title reign.
Bronson Reed will run through most of the midcarders in his nascent run as NXT North American Champion. He will plow through Santos Escobar, LA Knight, Cameron Grimes, and even Isaiah “Swerve” Scott before losing the title to Pete Dunne. After dethroning Johnny Gargano in an amazing steel cage match, Reed has been proving his main event potential. As long as he avoids complacency as North American Champion, he can use this reign to elevate himself into the main event scene and become a future NXT Champion.
