WWE NXT booked this title match to portray Raquel Gonzalez as an indomitable champion. Karrion Kross is scheduled to defend his NXT Championship in a fatal five-way match against four of NXT’s elite in Kyle O’Reilly, Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano, and Pete Dunne. Since many fans would easily foresee Kross retaining his NXT Championship against any of these superstars in one-on-one competition, WWE NXT has decided to make this title match unpredictable by booking a fatal five way match. Since Kyle O’Reilly is the only babyface in this match, he has the highest chances of dethroning Kross. However, the result will still be a Kross retention.

Once that occurs, everyone will diverge into their own separate paths. Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory will target MSK’s NXT Tag Team Championships and attempt to win all the gold for The Way alongside current NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell. As mentioned earlier, Pete Dunne will move on to win the NXT North American Championship from Bronson Reed in order to accomplish his pursuit of gold and win his first singles title in NXT. Finally, Kross (c) vs. KOR for the NXT Title will be the big money match for the next TakeOver.

However, Adam Cole will be the toughest obstacle in Kyle O’Reilly’s path to the NXT Title. As the standard bearer of the NXT Title, Adam Cole will push KOR to his limits and put him over as the top babyface before finally getting called up the main roster.
