Last week’s edition of Smackdown opened up with a backstage segment, featuring Jimmy Uso and Roman Reigns. During the aforementioned segment, Jimmy makes it clear that his brother Jey no longer wants to be involved with their ongoing family drama.

If you thought Reigns reacted to this bit of news with even a shimmer of empathy or compassion, well you certainly haven’t been watching Smackdown for the past several months.

Instead of showing his concern, Reigns plays the manipulation card with Jimmy after his fellow family member suggests that he can live up to the same standards as his brother.

To make a long story short. Later that night, Jimmy defeats Dolph Ziggler and it doesn’t seem to impress Reigns.

Not long after that, Edge makes his return. Edge appears to look as crazy as ever. Edge and Reigns go at it a bit before Reigns makes an escape. Edge spears Jimmy through a barricade. Edge pretty much no-sells the effects. Then the show ends.

It wouldn’t be that much of a surprise if Jimmy’s attempt at saving Reigns signifies a heel turn, but it’s not likely, either.

This doesn’t rule out the fact that Jimmy could eventually turn heel in the future, it just means that we’ve been seeing this sort of tweener behavior from him since his return and that doesn’t always signify a heel turn in the world of pro wrestling.

Now, getting involved in a sanctioned match where the rules state that outside interference will result in a disqualification? That sounds more like a heel turn, doesn’t it?

Considering the fact that Money in the Bank is WWE’s next pay per view and they probably want to keep Edge looking strong in defeat against the current WWE Universal Champion, a Jimmy heel turn might actually go down.

We’re still a few weeks away from the event taking place, so there’s plenty of time for swerves, plot twists, and whatnot.

Hell, for all we know, Jimmy could be added to Edge vs. Reigns and a triple threat match could be announced. It’s also possible it turns into a handicap match. Then there’s the possibility of Jey returning sooner than we think. Only time will tell.
