3. Drew McIntyre

Got to feel sad for Drew McIntyre.

The man works his ass off every single week on RAW to give the fans something to write home about. In a confusing mess of 50-50 booking, DQ finishes, rematches upon rematches, cringe-worthy promos, and voodoo dolls doing magic that is Monday Night RAW, Drew McIntyre stands alone.

He’s consistently excellent in the ring, no matter how bad the story may be. He has a knack for making stuff that shouldn’t work get over. From giant swords and fire entrances to kilts and random stories about kings, he pulls everything of like the beautiful Greek God that he is.

Drew is one of the few guys who’ve been able to grab that brass ring and become genuine “Top Guys” in WWE in recent years.

Drew seems head and shoulders above most of the guys in WWE (literally too) in that he’s actually a likable and sympathetic babyface. You feel for him when he’s busting his behind trying to deliver great matches week by week, opponent by opponent.

The only reason why he’s not higher on the list is that WWE really did him no favors. He’d been a great WWE champion until The Miz cashed in his MITB briefcase, and The Miz, of all people, beat Drew McIntyre for the WWE title, only to lose it to Bobby Lashley 8 days later.

Drew has been involved with the title almost all of 2021 so far. His run included successfully defending his title in the Elimination Chamber, then he got beat by Miz for the title, then he lost to Lashley at Mania, then he lost again in a Triple Threat also involving Braun Strowman (which, by the way, was a barnburner with 3 big, meaty men slapping each other around), then he beat Kofi and pinned Lashley in a tag match, and then, *checks notes* he lost to Lashley again and now he can’t challenge for the title as long as Lashley is champion.

*sigh*

What was supposed to be Drew overcoming all odds by defeating a ferocious beast in the form of Lashley, turned into Drew losing every time due to MVP interferences.

Although this may have slowed down Drew’s momentum a bit, he’s still having great matches on RAW on a weekly basis. He’s scheduled to be in the MITB Ladder match as we speak and he’s surely going to kill it there.

Drew has proven himself to be a main event draw and a champion who can carry the show, and he deserves many more world title reigns in the future.
