Wrestling legend Bobby Eaton passes away at age 62
“Beautiful” Bobby Eaton has sadly passed away at the age of 62. Eaton’s sister, Debbie Eaton Lewis, confirmed the news via Facebook announcing Eaton had passed on Wednesday, Aug. 4.
Eaton has had some issues with his health recently. Eaton had previously suffered a heart attack in 2006. It was reported back in July that Eaton suffered a bad fall which left him hospitalized. Eaton’s sister did not share if his death was related. She did not reveal the cause of death.
One-half of The Midnight Express will be remembered as one of the best tag-team performers of all time. Managed by Jim Cornette, Eaton teamed initially with Dennis Condrey, and then Stan Lane. The team went on to win tag team championships all over the world, including the NWA and Mid-South Wrestling Association. The Midnight Express was voted as the Tag Team of the Year in 1987 by Pro Wrestling Illustrated.
In 2015, Bobby Eaton wrestled his last-ever match, facing Ricky Morton in a losing effort, settling a near-30-year long rivalry between The Midnight Express and The Rock N’ Roll Express.

Eaton has teamed up with some greats all around the world, and he will be forever remembered for his impact on tag team wrestling. it is a day of mourning for all within professional wrestling who were inspired by Eaton. It has been well documented that Eaton was one of the nicest men in pro wrestling, and it is wonderful to read so many people remember his impact on their lives.
The Midnight Express has yet to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Maybe come 2022 on WrestleMania weekend, we finally celebrate his legacy together in Dallas.
