Big Swole benefits from the growing AEW women’s division
By J.C.
When it comes to the AEW women’s division, it’s growing to new heights with new talent from all around the world. The competition has become stiff, but Big Swole will only continue to step it up even more than before.
Big Swole has literally been one of the most vocal wrestlers with a large list of wrestlers from AEW and some from Impact Wrestling she has eyes on. Big Swole has many different options for what she can do as the competition grows in AEW.
Big Swole will benefit most from the growing AEW women’s division.
During the early days of AEW, the signings were just getting underway with a few great women’s wrestlers. Before Thunder Rosa, Serena Deeb, or Jamie Hayter, AEW signed Swole by the end of 2019 and it painted a clear picture through her high energy of what the future held.
The biggest rivalry came against the now current reigning women’s champion Dr.Britt Baker. Swole arguably played the biggest head games against a normally confident Britt Baker. It built up to her defeating Dr.Britt Baker in her home territory in a tooth and nail match last year during All Out.
Fans craved a unique storyline and they received it with Big Swole as she gave a taste of unpredictable moments and competitive spirit. Big Swole since that victory continued to remain hungry and competitive to face others of the women’s division.
In 2021, Swole is 14-3, which means she has a good way to go until she is at the level of Thunder Rosa and Kris Statlander, who remain the top two contenders. That hasn’t stopped Swole from presenting challenges and building rivalries.
Her latest rivalry is against Diamante, someone who has a reputation for intense rivalries and matches her energy. Diamante has stood out in her own way as she arrives to dominate competitors with no intention of losing.
That energy being matched with Swole makes for an intense rivalry. Swole has been against Diamante in the past and it’s honestly the most intense rivalry to be exclusive to AEW Dark.
With the focus being on AEW Dynamite and other shows, it’s hard to keep the focus on the show. Big Swole and Diamante have managed to keep the energy for AEW Dark flowing as they took over the show with their rivalry.
It benefits AEW Dark since they are typically centered around wrestling matches, having a rivalry with a personality like Swole has given added incentive with a rivalry. There is no telling what Swole will do during the rivalry next.
When she isn’t wrestling on Dynamite, Dark, or dealing with Diamante, she hypes up dream matches and knocks at the forbidden door. It’s only a matter of time before the forbidden door opens finally, if not, Swole will have to knock it down.
What can we expect from Swole? She will step it up even more than before. Every time a wrestler gets signed for the women’s division, Swole becomes more vocal and animated in and out of the ring.
That excitement clearly comes from a time when fans questioned the legitimacy of the AEW women’s division, and Swole knew it would build as time went by. Even though fans wanted a build right then and there, it blossomed to where we are today.
There’s ample amount of possibilities of what Big Swole could possibly do, she could force the forbidden door open for the women’s division, take her rivalry to a historic high on Dark against Diamante, or focus on climbing the ladder for the AEW women’s championship. It’s going to be a ride with Swole on AEW and she’s just getting started.
