CM Punk has returned to professional wrestling after 7 years and has joined the ranks at All Elite Wrestling. After weeks of speculation, CM Punk opened up AEW Rampage: The First Dance in Chicago to a thunderous reception at the United Center. The reaction was deafening and chants for Punk were heard for many minutes later.

CM Punk declared that “I’m back!” and says he’s back for the fans and for himself. Punk says he wants to work with all the young talent and there’s a couple of scores to settle in the locker room. He alluded to Darby Allin who was standing in the rafters with Sting. Punk then stated he would be at All Out on September 5th at All Out.

The Second City Saint looked like he hadn’t missed a beat, and look rejuvenated and excited to be back inside a wrestling ring. Punk appeared on AEW just moments after WWE’s Friday Night SmackDown had concluded on FOX.

CM Punk is back!

Finally. No more speculation. No more questions. No more waiting. After seven years, CM Punk is finally back and wrestling fans all over the world can finally rejoice.

It was an incredibly sad moment when CM Punk parted ways with WWE and he declared that he was done. Tonight, it looked as though he had that fire in his belly once again. It was a moment that wrestling fans on the whole will treasure for a lifetime, seeing one of the greatest wrestlers of this generation finally return.

For AEW, it is an exceptional capture and really states their intent moving forward. CM Punk was hugely popular in WWE, and many disillusioned fans may now seek out AEW to get their wrestling fix. What a time to be a wrestling fan. What a moment seeing CM Punk back. Hold your hats, business is about to pick up, as Jim Ross would say.
