Sean Waltman, better known as X-Pac, has provided an update on his planned return to the squared circle. Waltman has been working hard recently to get in shape for an in-ring return.

Waltman discussed details on the Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast and detailed a possible timetable.

“My last doctor’s visit a couple weeks, probably a month or so ago, he said everything was coming along nicely. I thought I was a little behind because I took a little time off. I’m going to therapy and that, but no. He said, ‘You’re coming along just fine.’ We’ll see. I go to physical therapy again next week, and then we’ll just go from there.” Waltman explained (h/t Wrestling Inc.)

The DX member went on to say that he would like to be ready in time for WWE’s Royal Rumble event in January 2022.

Waltman said “So, just in case, I would like to be ready by Royal Rumble time, but that’s not something that’s my main goal, go do the Royal Rumble. But if they called me, I would do the Royal Rumble. I love WWE, and regardless of what’s going on, I still have love for them, and so I would like for them to be the ones that host my return matches. But if not, there’s plenty other people that will.”

Could we see X-Pac return to WWE in the Royal Rumble match?

X-Pac’s last match was back in 2019. He teamed up with Hurricane Helms and the legendary Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger facing Revolt! at WrestleCon. His last match in WWE came in July 2002 on RAW where he teamed with The nWo, Chris Benoit, and Eddie Guerrero against Booker T, Bubba Ray Dudley, Goldust, Rob Van Dam, and Spike Dudley in a winning effort.

It appears he has been working extremely hard to get his life back on track over the years, and of course, now looking to have one last run. He hopes WWE will be the place he makes his return, and with the connections he has there, it is very much likely that will be the case. X-Pac could actually be a significant addition to the roster, adding some experience and knowledge. We will know WWE likes to have one or two surprises up their sleeve for the Royal Rumble match, so don’t be surprised if you hear X-Pac’s music hit, entering the match in January.
