Universal Champion and The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, is reportedly the current top merchandise seller in WWE.

Wrestling News reported that Reigns’ merchandise sales are at the same level as John Cena. WWE officials are reportedly extremely happy with Roman’s work as the Head of the Table on SmackDown.

Roman Reigns is said to be the all-time merchandise seller for a heel superstar in company history.

Reigns has been performing in his role as a heel since the summer of 2020, with his Special Legal Counsel, Paul Heyman, by his side. He has been the reigning Universal Champion for over 400 days.

The former Shield member is set to defend his Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view on October 21. The event is set to take place from Saudi Arabia and will be streaming live on Peacock and the WWE Network around the world.

Is Roman Reigns really a needle mover?

If merchandise sales are anything to go by, then yes. If Reigns was the top merchandise seller as a babyface then it would naturally be understandable. Performing as a heel and currently leading the list, being at the levels of John Cena, makes the accomplishment even more impressive. Roman has been the highlight of WWE television for over a year now and continues his impressive run, alongside his Bloodline Jimmy and Jey Uso.

Speculation is also suggesting that the Universal Championship is set to stay around Roman Reigns’ waist for much longer. WWE have created something very special and the act has not become tiresome for the WWE Universe. It adds intrigue to the product, and could continue this character for some time. The Head of the Table is doing some fantastic work and it appears that many are finally acknowledging him.
