WWE returned to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the Crown Jewel event. We crowned a new King of the Ring and our first ever Queen’s Crown winner. A Hell in a Cell match, no holds barred and falls count anywhere match, women’s championship triple threat and so much more. It truly was an action-packed show!

Kick-off: The Uso’s (c) vs The Hurt Business (non-title)

During this non-title match, the first half was dominated by The Hurt Business until Jey Uso finally made that tag and Jimmy became legal. Benjamin hits a running knee to Jimmy in the corner, Jey saves the match. Double superkick to Alexander and a big splash from Jey led to the all-important 1,2,3.

There were a few spots with missed kicks and slightly off timings, overall was a good match

Winners: The Usos via pinfall with Jey’s frog splash

Seth Rollins vs Edge (Hell in a Cell)

The end of the trilogy, seven years in the making, as Edge and Seth Rollins stepped inside Hell in a Cell. Edge explodes out of the corner as soon as the bell rang. Seth attempted to deliver a huge dive, Edge sidestepped, causing Rollins to dive straight into the steel.

First trip under the ring, Edge pulls out two chairs. Rollins prevented him from using them as they fought back outside of the ring.

Seth got his hands on the steel chair and beat Edge to a chorus of ‘you suck’ from the WWE Universe. Edge managed to lock in the crossface until Rollins hit Edge in the eye with a piece of the steel chair. Seth delivered a beautiful frog splash but Edge still managed to kick out.

Seth used the Unprettier on Edge and again Edge kicked out. Seth went to the top rope and was pushed off, bounced off the cage and crashed through the table.

Seth delivered a phenomenal sunset bomb from the top rope through the table. Rollins hit Edge with a trio of superkicks before wrapping his foot with a chain and kicking him once again. Edge delivered a huge stomp to Rollins on a steel chair and picked up the victory!

Just amazing story-telling, no two better at it. The match had some fantastic spots and was the perfect end to their story.

Winner: Edge via pinfall with The Stomp

Mustafa Ali vs Mansoor

The match started going back and forth between the two, both showing off their amazing technical wrestling abilities. Mustafa locked in the Camel Clutch. Mansoor delivered a beautiful moonsault but didn’t manage to get a successful cover. Ali went for a 450 Splash and missed, Mansoor did a beautiful springboard neckbreaker to pick up the win.

After the match, Ali beat down Mansoor from behind until unknown music played and a man walked down to the ring, who was revealed to be silver medallist Tareg Hamedi who delivered a devastating kick to the head of Ali.

Great match between the two of them, Hamedi got a great reaction from the Saudi Arabian fans.

Winner: Mansoor via over the top rope neck breaker

RKBro (c) Vs AJ Styles & Omos (Raw Tag Team Championship)

Riddle rode to the ring on a camel. Styles and Riddle started the match, RKBro tried to keep the giant Omos out of the ring but it didn’t last very long.

Riddle and AJ delivered some amazing back and forth offence. Styles went to deliver the phenomenal forearm and got caught with an RKO, Riddle delivered the Floating Bro from the top rope for the win!

Disappointed that Omos didn’t get RKOed but it was a great match Riddle stood out the most to me; he had some great spots with Styles

Winners: RKBro via pinfall with Riddle’s Floating Bro

Doudrop vs Zelina (Queen’s Crown Tournament Final)

The match started off with Doudrop showing off her strength and height advantage. The match was very back and forth; every time Doudrop did a big power move, Zega countered with her speed and agility. Zelina delivered a Code Red to Doudrop to become the first-ever Queen’s Crown Tournament winner.

Winner: Zelina Vega via Code Red Powerbomb

Goldberg vs Bobby Lashley (No Holds Barred/Falls Count Anywhere)

Lashley wrapped a chain around his hand before the bell rang and used it to deliver a series of huge punches to Goldberg. Lashley wrapped a chair around the injured leg of Goldberg. He set up a table in the corner and went to spear Goldberg through it, but the veteran moved out the way, causing Lashley to crash straight through the table.

Goldberg broke Lashley in half with a wicked spear and then his signature Jackhammer. He didn’t go for the pin; instead, he continued to punish Lashley in the name of his son. Goldberg speared Lashley through the barricade; Bobby’s arm was bleeding quite a lot.

The Hurt Business came out with kendo sticks to help Lashley and they both got a beating from Goldberg, who took a kendo stick and used it against Lashley. Lashley took a huge spear off the stage through multiple tables.

Winner: Goldberg via pinfall with a Spear off the stage through the table

WWE Crown Jewel: Xavier Woods vs Finn Balor (King of the Ring Final)

Just completely back and forth perfect wrestling; neither of them going for anything too flashy at the start. It was mostly strikes and some technical wrestling but it was very impressive.

Woods delivered a superplex but couldn’t get the pin. Balor hit Woods with the Slingblade and a dropkick to the corner. Woods managed to move out of the way before Balor could hit the Coup de Grace.

Woods delivered his wicked elbow from the top rope and became our new King of the Ring!

Winner: Xavier Woods via pinfall with a top rope elbow drop

WWE Crown Jewel: Big E (c) vs Drew McIntyre (WWE Title)

Match started off with a simple lock-up and feeling out process. Drew sent Big E flying with a belly to belly suplex on the floor. Once back in the ring, it seemed to be a battle of strength and both superstars delivered multiple belly to belly suplexes to one another.

Big E delivered the Big Ending but McIntyre managed to kick out. Drew hit the Claymore but couldn’t get that three count. The crowd chanted ‘one more time’ to Drew, but Mcintyre went for a Big Ending instead. Big E managed to counter and hit another Big Ending to finally pick up the victory.

This was a great match with a great start of technical wrestling, huge slams and throws and a trade-off of finishers building great gradual drama.

Winner: Big E via pinfall with the Big Ending

WWE Crown Jewel: Becky Lynch (c) vs Sasha banks vs Bianca Belair (SmackDown Women’s Championship)

Bianca Belair lifted Banks with one hand over her head and dropped her, face-first onto the canvas. Banks got Becky in the Bank Statement until Bianca broke it up.

Lynch jumped from the top rope and got caught by Bianca and Sasha. She tried to talk her way out of it but took a double buckle bomb. Belair delivered a wicked shoulder tackle to Banks. Banks hit the Three Amigos and went for a frog splash but Belair moved out of the way.

About a minute passed where they all scrambled to get control before Belair attempted a moonsault and missed. Banks grabbed Belair’s braid to control her whilst delivering some knee strikes. Lynch hit the Man-handle Slam on Banks but the cover was broken up by Bianca. Lynch put Bianca and Sasha in the Dis-Arm-Her. Bianca lifted both women up to break the submission.

Becky rolled up Banks and, while using the ropes for leverage, got the victory and retained her title.

Winner: Becky Lynch via  pinfall with a roll-up

WWE Universal Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs Brock Lesnar

Unusually, Roman Reigns, the champion, walked down the ramp first.

Brock tried to German suplex Reigns but he held onto the ropes and fought it off. Lesnar eventually managed to suplex him. Reigns delivered a spectacular dive over the top rope, taking out Lesnar. Reigns and Lesnar hit each other with their finishers, both securing near-falls.

Lesnar went for the F5, which knocked out the referee, Lesnar picked up the referee with one hand by his belt and dumped him outside. Heyman threw in the Universal Championship, but it was unclear if it was meant for Roman or Brock. Lesnar ended up with it in his possession just before the arrival of the rest of The Bloodline. The Usos delivered a double superkick to Lesnar before Reigns hit Brock in the face with the title to pick up the win.

Winner: Roman Reigns via pinfall with an illegal strike with the title

There was a lot of drama and storytelling in this match, I wish it was longer because the match was really entertaining but all of the chaos came too soon and the ending was a bit anticlimactic.

Bianca Belair takes the number one spot in the Women’s PWI 150. dark. Next

The Bloodline left with their heads and their titles held high alongside the fearful Paul Heyman.
