Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has reported that leading women’s wrestler’s from All Elite Wrestling and IMPACT Wrestling have called for a crossover between the two companies.

IMPACT Knockouts Champion, Deonna Purrazzo, has had conversations with Scott D’Amore, where AEW Women’s Champion, Britt Baker, has had similar conversations with Tony Khan.

Whilst as of this writing it has just been talks, it is very likely that a crossover could happen with AEW’s current open door policy with IMPACT Wrestling. Wrestler’s from both promotions have been featuring on each others flagship shows which has been described as the “forbidden door” being opened.

Tony Khan has spoke recently with Jonathan Hood and explained the details behind the “forbidden door” being open “Vince Sr was really cooperative. He booked Andre (The Giant) out all over the country. He would work for AWA and would go to Mid South and work in Houston. Wrestling was much more collaborative before the mid-80s and it was actually one person that made the business less collaborative. I’m trying to bring some of that spirit back. When Vince Sr was running the New York territory, it was a much more collaborative thing” (h/t Comic Book)

Reported suggestions that came from the conversations was the possibility of a champion vs. champion match to competing as a tag team for the Knockouts Tag Team Championship.

AEW Women’s Champion vs. IMPACT Knockouts Champion in the future?

Seeing the “forbidden door” opened for the women’s divisions of AEW and IMPACT Wrestling would be something to behold. It would no doubt bring us some dream matches, including Deonna Purrazzo vs. Britt Baker who are currently the leading women’s champions in their respective promotion. The buzz and excitement continues to build outside of WWE’s doors, and we hope that Tony Khan and Scott D’Amore come to an agreement very soon.
