AEW Dynamite is back on Wednesday this week and will be broadcast live from Boston, Massachusetts.

This week’s Dynamite will include matches in both the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament and the TBS Women’s Title Tournament.

The TNT Title will also be defended by the newly crowned Sammy Guevara and this match comes with all sorts of stipulations for the victor.

CM Punk will be back in the ring as he takes on AEW newcomer Bobby Fish.  And an 8 man tag team match is on tap as the Elite battle members of the Dark Order.

Last week’s Dynamite was a mixed bag of highs and lows as we were treated to a fantastic match between Dustin Rhodes and Bryan Danielson.  We also saw a riveting promo from MJF as he continued to try to get inside the head of Darby Allin.  And we saw Bobby Fish pick a direction in his AEW career as he continued to attack Anthony Greene after their match, prompting a save from CM Punk, and establishing Fish firmly as a heel in AEW.

We also saw a good, but somewhat disjointed match from two very talented women in Ruby Soho and Penelope Ford.  While the sloppy moments weren’t enough to ruin the match, it was just a bit surprising given the level of talent that both women possess.

Then we had the botched moonsault attempt by Lance Archer that interrupted a very good match with Eddie Kingston and led to an abrupt finish.  Kudos to Archer for being a professional and digging down to give the crowd an actual finish to the match.  Hopefully, Archer recovers quickly and will be back in the AEW ring soon.

We also got an idea of what the Full Gear card will look like as it seems FTR and the Lucha Bros are slated for a match at the upcoming pay-per-view.  We also found out that Tay Conti and Britt Baker will clash for Baker’s AEW Women’s World Title.

The Inner Circle will have another shot at American Top Team and the Men of the Year at Full Gear, and the issues between Darby Allin and MJF seem to be headed to a resolution at the upcoming pay-per-view as well.

Let’s take a look at the announced matches for this week’s AEW Dynamite and what to expect from each.

CM Punk vs Bobby Fish

Bobby Fish has been a very busy man since coming to AEW.  In just a few weeks he has gone to battle with Lee Moriarty, Anthony Greene, Sammy Guevara, and Bryan Danielson.

His most recent bout was with Anthony Greene, a match that Fish won handily.  However, after the match Fish continued to beat on Greene in an attempt to make a statement that he was someone to be feared in AEW.

Fish caught the attention of the one and only CM Punk, who came down to make the save, setting up this match on Dynamite.

Fish has done well for himself in all four of his matches, even though his record is just 2-2.  And he has a big hill to climb if he wants to push his record to 3-2.

Fish will continue his trend of performing well in big matches, but he will also continue his trend of losing them when he falls to “The Best in the World” on Wednesday.  Winner: CM Punk

Dark Order vs The Elite

Stu Grayson, Evil Uno, Colt Cabana, and John Silver will take on Kenny Omega, Adam Cole, and The Young Bucks in an eight-man tag team match.

The upcoming match between Kenny Omega and Adam Page at Full Gear makes this match interesting as the Dark Order will look to do what they can to soften up Omega.

This will be a fun match as any match that includes John Silver is going to have at least one hilarious spot in it.  And the members of the Dark Order are just really fluid together in the ring in virtually any combination.

But at the end of the day, the talent level of the Elite is just on a different level than the talent level of the Dark Order.  And the outcome will reflect that.  Winners: The Elite

Dark Order’s “10” vs Jon Moxley in the World Title Eliminator Tournament

At first glance, this seems like a bit of a disappointing matchup, especially with the amount of talent that currently resides in AEW.

But don’t sleep on “10”, also known as Preston Vance.

He has been in the spotlight as a single competitor before and produced a really good match with Darby Allin for the TNT Title.

This match will most likely exceed expectations as Vance knows he has an opportunity here to turn heads and get himself more opportunities like this in the future if he performs well in this match.

The tournament finals will take place on the Full Gear card.  And it seems very likely that we are heading towards a showdown between Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley in the finals.  Winner: Jon Moxley

Hikaru Shida vs Serena Deeb in the TBS Women’s Championship Tournament

Quite possibly the two best in-ring technicians in the AEW Women’s Division will meet in a rematch, but this time with raised stakes as the winner of the match will advance in the TBS Women’s Title Tournament.

The last time these two met, Deeb picked up a bit of a surprising victory as Shida was attempting to claim her 50th AEW win.

AEW has been very aware of not using 50-50 booking in the past but in this spot, it makes perfect sense.

Shida carried the women’s division on her back for a very long time and has the longest title reign to date in AEW of any champion.

Having Deeb win here would all but squash the possibility of a third match between the two anytime in the near future.  However, having Shida go over sets up a trilogy somewhere down the road between these two amazing performers.

So Shida needs to win this match, and then put over another talent later in the tournament.  Winner: Hikaru Shida

Ethan Page vs Sammy Guevara for the TNT Title

As if the TNT Title wasn’t a big enough prize to sell this match, there are also a number of other stipulations tied to this contest as well.

First, if Page beats Guevara, not only is he the new TNT Champion, but Sammy Guevara will have to leave the Inner Circle.

But if Guevara is able to defeat Page and retain his title then Guevara gets to pick the three members of American Top Team that will partner with Page and Scorpio Sky in their ten-man tag team match that is slated for Full Gear.

As fun as it would be to see just how egotistical Ethan Page could get with the TNT Title around his waist, it doesn’t seem likely here.

Guevara hasn’t held the title for very long and to take it away from one of the young, rising stars so quickly would be counterproductive to what they are trying to do with Sammy.

Plus, the match at Full Gear with Sammy getting to choose the members of American Top Team that have to wrestle is setting up for Dan Lambert to have to take part in the match.

After months of running his mouth, he is going to have to get in the ring and back it up.  Which should lead to a loud pop at Full Gear when he finds himself at the mercy of the Inner Circle.  Winner: Sammy Guevara
