WWE: Five times WWE’s Women’s division stole the show
Trish Stratus vs. Lita on Monday Night Raw (December 6, 2004)
On December 6, 2004, Lita vs. Trish Stratus served as the main event of Monday Night Raw.
This was a rarity in the early 2000s, as it would mark only the 2nd time a women’s match main evented Monday Night Raw.
This was also one of the rare occasions wrestling fans got to enjoy a title match on cable TV without it ending in any fluff, disqualifications, or fly-by-night shenanigans.
While it wasn’t the lengthiest, the bout had everything you’d desire in a wrestling match.
From countered finishers to false finishes to JR and The King’s comedic back and forth at the commentary table, this match was the total package.
Becky Lynch Attacks Charollete Flair (SummerSlam 2018)
The year 2018 was quite an important one for Becky Lynch, wouldn’t you say?
The 31st annual SummerSlam featured a triple threat match between then Smackdown Women’s Champion Carmella, Charlotte Flair, and the aforementioned Becky Lynch.
Flair would go on to win the match, in what would prove to be an unpopular decision.
Although a post-match beat down on Flair would signify a Becky Lynch heel turn for the moment, fans in attendance saw things differently and cheered on as Lynch attacked her former best friend.
Soon after, The Irish Lass Kicker would soon become The Man; a moniker she has since kept to this very day.
