Since her addition to the commentary booth, Beth Phoenix has been an integral part to the presentation on WWE NXT. On Thursday she announced that she’s stepping away from her seat to spend more time with her family.

“Ahead of War Games, I wanted to share that this Sunday will be my final night in NXT,” Phoenix posted on social media. “While I will remain a part of WWE, I have made the choice to step away from the weekly broadcast booth to spend more time with my family.”

Phoenix has been a part of the commentary team since 2019. Wade Barrett and Vic Joseph rounded out the three-person booth. WWE has not announced if someone will replace Phoenix or if they will remain with a two-person team.

“This was not an easy decision, as I have loved my three-plus years and 135 episodes with NXT and am incredibly proud of the brand,” Phoenix posted. “I will be forever grateful to Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett, Nigel McGuinness, Tom Phillips, Mauro Ranallo, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Michael Cole, and my entire NXT family both in and out of the ring for the amazing opportunity. NXT will always be a part of me and Auntie Betty will always be a part of NXT. Leave the porch light on for me!”

Phoenix is a multiple-time champion, holding the WWE Divas Championship once and the WWE Women’s Championship three times during her 11-year career. She last took part in the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble in Houston, Texas.
