Pro Wrestling Illustrated creates an annual debate point around the top lists created by the publication. That will continue as news came out on Thursday that The Young Bucks were the number one team in the second edition of the PWI Tag Team 50.

“Congratulations to Matt and Nick Jackson, The Young Bucks, for ranking number one in the second annual PWI Tag Team 50,” the publication posted on Twitter. “To see who else made the cut, grab the digital edition or preorder the print magazine from pwi-online.com.”

The Young Bucks are coming off a 302-day run as the AEW tag team champions. They picked up those titles back at AEW Full Gear 2020 with a victory over FTR, while putting up defenses against The Acclaimed, The Inner Circle, Death Triangle, SCU, and many others. They dropped the belts to the Lucha Brothers in an excellent cage match at AEW All Out back in September.

The Young Bucks responded with a simple “Duh” on social media, further establishing their expectations to be ranked among the best teams in the industry.

The remaining top five in this year’s edition of the list include current AEW tag team champions, The Lucha Bros, NJPW tag team champions Zack Sabre Jr and Taichi, SmackDown tag team champions The Usos and ALK.

Kenny Omega was the top male for the PWI 500 and Bianca Belair was the top women’s wrestler in the women’s PWI 150.
