Taya Valkyrie is heading back to AAA.

Valkyrie’s return to the promotion occurred during AAA TripleMania Regia 2021 on Saturday. She appeared during a video to let her fans know that she’s coming back. During the video, she also put a challenge out to the current Reina de Reinas Champion, Deonna Purrazzo.

Valkyrie is one of the multiple performers released by the WWE this year. Valkyrie was released on November 4 along with other big names such as Keith Lee, Karrion Kross, Nia Jax, and others. Her husband, John Morrison, was released a few weeks later.

Known as Franky Monet while a part of the WWE NXT brand, Valkyrie wasn’t given the opportunity to become a bigger star than was expected upon her signing. She was signed back in February of 2021, but by her release in November, she would only have six matches in the company.

Before joining the WWE, Valkyrie put together a highly successful wrestling career in other organizations. She’s a multiple-time champion, holding the Impact Knockouts Championship or 377-days and a two-time AAA Reina de Reinas Champion, with her time as champion totaling 1,015 days.

The current Reina de Reinas Champion, Purrazzo, secured the title back at AAA TripleMania XXIX when she defeated Faby Apache. At the time, she became a double champion, holding the Impact Knockouts Title at the same time.
