Wrestling Rumor Roundup: Reason behind WWE released superstars being used in promos, backstage reaction and more
By Amit Shukla
Wrestling has changed over the week, and we see a new side of the WWE that is not prevalent in recent memory. WWE has revamped the Black and Gold Brand to NXT 2.0 under Vince’s guidance, and their show NXT WarGames was a hit amongst fans. The wrestlers performed well, and the fans are now eager to know what stands with Johnny Gargano, a.k.a., Johnny Wrestling.
The former DIY member hype this week’s show during the closing moments of WarGames when he asked everyone to tune in to the Tuesday show. Fans will be eagerly waiting to know what happens next with one of the front runners and the powerhouse of NXT. Will he stay with the company or jump ships like Adam Cole Bay Bay? Well, your guess is as good as mine. Before we solve that puzzle, let’s look at the rumors that have been doing the rounds and may matter in the grand scheme of things. So without further ado, let’s get down to it:
Austin Theory to get a push
Vince is no stranger to the name ‘Austin’ as he once feuded with a superstar of the same name, and he now mentors another one on Monday Nights. We ran a story about how Austin Theory may be up for a push, and it looks like Red Notice may have put Austin on notice. The superstar once relegated is now back in the picture and with the boss himself. Vince rarely makes appearances on screen now, and if he is in the storyline, that’s a big thing for Austin Theory.
He came into the spotlight on the Raw after Survivor Series. Vince’s egg got stolen at the Survivor Series event. Austin has wins over legends now and is on his way to stardom.
Released superstars names used in promos
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Liv Morgan’s reference to her released friends was a call from Vince McMahon or someone higher up in the WWE creative team. As for Edge, the common belief is that The Rated-R superstar came up with the name at the moment as he has creative control over his promos.
It’s excellent to see WWE use the names of its released superstars in its promos, as that is not how the company does. WWE’s use of some female superstar’s name and The Miz’s team member could be a new strategy to keep the fans puzzled if Johnny Drip Drip may join the company soon. The big question is if he would rejoin the promotion after being recently released.
