Pat McAfee signs new deal with FanDuel worth approximately $30 million
Pat McAfee has signed a new deal with FanDuel that is worth approximately $30 million per year. This deal keeps his show, The Pat McAfee Show, exclusive to the platform.
Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network and NFL.com reported on the new deal while Shams Charania of The Athletic followed up on the massive amount. The deal is set for four years, with an opt-out after the third.
“FanDuel is still our exclusive sportsbook partner but they just want to lock in the fact that we will continue to do this show how we want to do it maybe in a bigger way,” McAfee said in a video message. “We’ll be doing this show for the time to come, hopefully in a bigger way, we’ll be doing it our own way.”
McAfee has become a beloved member of the WWE Universe, currently as the color commentator alongside Michael Cole on SmackDown every Friday.
His involvement with the WWE dates back to 2018 when he participated in multiple NXT storylines. He was involved in the pre-show build to WrestleMania 35, which involved the hilarious story around an argument about his tuxedo shorts.
McAfee’s biggest WWE moment came during his feud with Adam Cole as the head of The Kings of NXT. The feud started on The Pat McAfee Show, leading to the two men getting physical multiple times. Cole would defeat McAfee at WWE NXT TakeOver XXX in August of 2020. He then followed that up with a WarGames match where he teamed with Danny Burch, Oney Lorcan, and Pete Dunne in a losing effort to The Undisputed Era at WWE NXT TakeOver WarGames IV. Both critics and wrestlers highly praised performances alike.
