Rumors have long been a part of the professional wrestling industry, and the introduction of social media further exacerbated their presence, for better or worse. Each week we look at some of the biggest stories bubbling to the top of the rumor mill.

Kevin Owens can still be released

Kevin Owens shocked the world when he re-signed with the WWE. The Prizefighter revealed that he has a family to take care of, so he did what was best for him and his family. This is an understandbale reason and Owens’s decision was met with wide praise across the wrestling industry. However, his deal did not come with a “no-cut” clause as some had questioned.

According to Dave Meltzer of WON, Kevin Owens can still be released as the company has the final call over their 90-day non-compete clause. It can let go of a superstar if they see fit. This means that the company can release him the same way they did more than 100 superstars since the start of the Covid-19 outbreak. As the company continues to make decisions with a financial mindset first, Owens’s lack of a no-cut clause means he could be released in the future before his contract ends.

Why did Kevin Owens get a re-signing?

It’s no surprise that the WWE wants to keep some big names by their side as they continue to compete with All Elite Wrestling. Kyle O’Reilly became the latest name to join the company this week as the free agency play gets more intriguing.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Kevin Owens and the WWE came to terms with the agreement as KO got an excellent offer.

Bray Wyatt isn’t returning to wrestling soon

Bray Wyatt was released under shocking conditions this year, and as the year comes to a close, Dave Meltzer of WON reports that Windham Rotunda isn’t planning to return to the wrestling scene soon. He was amongst the top people earning in the WWE and also got exceptional offers from AEWm, but it looks like he is in no hurry to be inside the squared circle.
