Timothy Thatcher, Hachiman, and Danny Burch released by WWE
The backstage cuts weren’t the only impact to hit NXT on Wednesday as three on-air talents were also released. Danny Burch, Timothy Thatcher, and Hachiman were all cut from the company.
Thatcher is a well-known wrestler across the independent circuit. Before signing with the WWE in February of 2020, he performed for some of the most-important indies including DDT, wXw, and EVOLVE, all where he earned titles along the way.
Thatcher last competed for WWE in August when he was defeated by Ridge Holland. He won the only two NXT Fight Pit matches, defeating Matt Riddle and Tommaso Ciampa.
Burch was a former tag team champion alongside Oney Lorcan. Burch’s last match also came back in August where the duo lost to MSK. This was his second tenure with WWE, after a stint from 2011 to 2014 where he was mostly used as an enhancement talent.
Hachiman, better known as Hideki Suzuki, was brought into NXT in 2011 where he became a part of the stable known as Diamond Mine. He served most of his time in a coaching role, even playing that part on screen. The 41-year-old competitor was a multiple-time champion in Japan for companies like WRESTLE-1 and ZERO1.
