Sasha Banks continues to break barriers beyond professional wrestling. News broke on Monday that she will star in ESPN’s opening segment to kick off the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship Game. The news was first reported by Variety.

Banks will appear in the video as a superhero who talks about the importance of the big game to determine the best team in NCAA college football. This year’s edition of the championship features Georgia versus Alabama and will start at 8 pm Monday evening.

“It’s been such an honor, I feel like everybody who has been working on the set, and the whole team have been so incredible,” Banks commented in the Variety piece. “TO walk in and to just feel so welcome, and just to see everything, and I was just like it was amazing.”

Banks is one of the most popular names in professional wrestling. Not only is she a multiple-time champion, but her popularity elevated her to a role as a major character in the second season of the Disney series “The Mandalorian.” She’s been recognized as one of the most tweeted about women’s athletes and awarded for her big match at WrestleMania 37 with Bianca Belair.
