All Elite Wrestling announced a Lights Out match for AEW Beach Break between Adam Cole and Orange Cassidy.

During a backstage segment, Cole expressed his disdain for Cassidy, after the two men competed in a mixed tag team match with Britt Baker and Kris Statlander. Cole and Baker picked up the victory, but the turning moment of the night came when Cassidy accidentally sent Baker through a table outside the ring. Cole then went on a run to finish off Cassidy and pick up the victory for his team.

Several big Lights Out matches have occurred in AEW. The most recent of which featured Baker against Thunder Rosa last year, where the two women put on one of the best matches of the year.

Former AEW World Champion, Jon Moxley was involved in two Lights Out matches, both in 2019. In those matches, he picked up wins against Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega. The match with Omega resulted in AEW being fined $10,000 by the Maryland Athletic Commission.

AEW Beach Break is set for next Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite from the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio. The announced card includes:

  • Adam Cole vs Orange Cassidy in a Lights Out Match
  • Red Velvet vs LEGIT Leyla Hirsch
  • Chris Jericho, Santana, and Ortiz vs Daniel Garcia and 2pointO
  • Cody Rhodes vs Sammy Guevara in a Ladder Match for the TNT Championship
