Brian Kendrick to debut on AEW Dynamite versus Jon Moxley
A surprising AEW debut has been announced as Brian Kendrick will take on Jon Moxley on this week’s dynamite.
“In his AEW debut, Brian Kendrick will face the toughest of tests tomorrow night on AEW Dynamite,” the company tweeted out on Tuesday. “Jon Moxley versus Brian Kendrick tomorrow night LIVE on Wednesday Night Dynamite.”
Kendrick was a part of WWE as a producer for WWE NXT up through December when he asked for a release of his contract. According to Fightful Select, they confirmed that he was no longer under contract, opening his opportunity to join AEW for this match.
Kendrick had two runs with the WWE. Back in 2007 he and Paul London picked up the tag team titles on two occasions, their first run lasting nearly a year. Kendrick would make his return in 2016 as a part of the cruiserweight division, joining the CWC tournament before winning the Cruiserweight Championship in 2016.
Kendrick had not wrestled on WWE TV since 2020 when he was a part of the 205 Live roster. He was briefly involved in an angle with Joe Gacy and Harland, but the announced match never occurred. He was working as a producer for the WWE before the release.
